Occupy Beach Street [OBS]
Date: Every Sunday, 7am – 1pm.
It’s a street party! Enjoy the local food, handicrafts, busking performances and mingle with thousands of other locals and visitors every Sunday. Organized in conjunction with Penang Car Free Day on Beach Street, OBS encourages people to connect with each other and their city. It’s also a great place to bring your bicycle or skateboard and have some fun.

China House is a focal point for the Penang arts and music scene. Known for their exhibitions and shows as much as for their delicious cakes, China House is a great place to unwind, enjoy some cake or drinks and be a part of the artistic growth of Penang. The Canteen, as the attached pub is known, features performances almost every night with a good mix between popular standards and new, original artists.

Mercury is an all female artist exhibition that opens up discussion about creativity and gender

It was first used as an element that represents virgin females. However the symbol Mercury is now being claimed by transgender activists. The ambiguity of the meaning as well as the sudden shift reminds one that gender roles are never fixed. Boundaries between sexes are fluid, constantly redefined by society and individual itself.
Emerging Voices 2015

The inaugural FT/OppenheimerFunds Emerging Voices Awards aims to recognise extraordinary artistic talent in three categories, namely fiction literature, film-making and art across more than 100 emerging market nations. The winner in each category will receive a prize award of $40,000 and will also be featured in a post event magazine and videos profiled on ft.com.
